Everyone has a story

Building things has always been a passion of mine, from my very first LEGO set to the advanced digital fabrication machinery I now use to bring my designs to life. With each new tool, I’ve been able to take my ideas to the next level, and my journey has been filled with incredible experiences. One of my proudest moments was being part of the team that consulted on the design, fabrication, and installation of the flagship meeting room in the CIBC building in downtown Toronto. These experiences have given me a unique perspective on the possibilities of digital fabrication and the exciting future it holds.

I’ve worked with startups and established companies, where I’ve honed my skills in product development and digital fabrication. I’ve started businesses, worked as a freelancer, and had the privilege to contribute to academic initiatives through the Living Architecture Systems Group which is closely affiliated with The University of Waterloo. Through all of this, I’ve learned that digital fabrication is more than just a skill set. It’s a method where creativity and technical knowledge intersect. It’s a cyclical process where the inherent constraints of fabrication and the inspired designs of one’s imagination wrestle into equilibrium.

To new adventures

My current adventure takes place in Nicaragua where I’m consulting on design and fabrication for Masaya Homes, a modular home company focused on sustainable production. My expertise in digital fabrication and product development has enabled me to help set up their first CNC router, develop internal procedures, optimize manufacturing costs, and establish realistic production timelines. This adventure has allowed me to pursue my interests in sustainable production and community development, and I’m excited to continue using my skills to create meaningful change.
