PEDAL BOARD
SYSTEM

ROLE: DESIGN CONSULTANT

This project was commissioned by a friend of mine who was looking for an extensive live performance pedal board. It needed to be something he could easily bring to a show (albeit on a dolly), as well as something that looked nice when setup in his home studio.

He required ample storage, a thoughtful layout with respect to the complex signal chain he’d developed, and most importantly, he needed a raised platform with a sliding drawer so he could manipulate his effects by hand and stow away utility equipment like power bars and a mixer.

This pedalboard system consists of two distinct units – an upper and a lower. The lower unit features a raised section for frequently used pedals and storage beneath for power supplies. The upper board is supported by aluminum tubing and angled towards the user for easier access. The top of the upper unit was designed to hold pedals that are controlled by hand, with the drawer holding a mixer and additional power supplies.

The entire pedalboard system was built out of Baltic birch plywood using a CNC router. The CNC programming was done in the Fusion360 manufacturing environment, ensuring precise and accurate cuts. The result is a beautifully crafted and durable pedalboard system that is built to last.
